2. What can I expect in the first therapy session?
It is normal to feel anxious or emotional about your first therapy session. We are here to listen and ensure that you feel comfortable. In our first session we will talk about what motivated you to seek therapy, the symptoms that you are experiencing, and collaborate on a plan for the next steps for our work together. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about therapy.
3. Do I need therapy?
It is not uncommon to experience symptoms that impact your overall sense of well-being and not understand "why" they are happening or what strategies you could apply to effectively manage those thoughts, emotions, and behavior. We will work together to help you develop clarity, confidence, and resilience.
4. How is therapy different than speaking with a friend or family member?
As you may have experienced, friends and family may have the best intentions, however they are involved in your unique life story and may be unable to offer an unbiased perspective. Our therapists are trained professionals focused on maintaining a neutral position.
